How do you talk about a dog so special to you, and yet feel like you did them justice in just a few paragraphs? Reign was hardly a dog. Human in spirit, she had advanced emotions, expressions, and feelings. She loved tricks. She loved giving side-eye. She loved to sneak food off your plate if she could. Her nickname was "stop licking!". She was a constant companion to us, and lived for couch-duty next to my husband daily. She was his constant companion. When we lost her suddenly, our hearts were shattered.

While our favorite moments with Reign were the car rides, the agility classes, and the cuddles, she did have many beautiful moments in the show ring. Her color never failed her, and she was rewarded consistently by many judges, despite being merle. As a young dog, she was Best In Puppy Sweepstakes at the Border Collie Club of Northern California Specialty Show in Grass Valley, CA under Breeder-Judge Joyce Herie (Westernesse). She also won Winners Bitch for a big 5 point major at the Sierra Nevada Border Collie Club Specialty Show in Carson City, NV in September 2012, followed by another 4 point major the following day at the specialty supported entry show. We showed her in a UKC show for fun, where she took a Group 1 and a Group 3, and also showed her at a weekend of IABCA International Shows, where she quickly picked up her title.

Reign lives on through her son "Ash", and his progeny. We have high hopes with a granddaughter and grandson that we have recently kept back. Seeing that little bit of her in them allows us to continue to cherish our very special memories of her.
